SPS day camp discrimination

As a Spokane homeowner and taxpayer with a child I am writing to express my extreme disappointment in your “pay to learn” day camp. If you open “public” school buildings to one student they should be open to all students; not just those who can pay or have sociopolitical connections.

Navigating the enrollment of my child has been extremely difficult; hoping schools would reopen, then the disappointment of this new digital learning plan. Only to learn a small group of exclusive children will have access to buildings and staff MY tax dollars have already paid for!!!???

You are blatantly discriminating, choosing who and who not to educate; reinforcing a class and socioeconomic system that is designed to prevent the “lower class poor” an education and all its benefits.

2020 is the year of inclusion; no more racism, no more classism.

Months of poor planning and bad decisions by the Spokane Public Schools district are perpetuating the ugliest aspects of society. Is that the goal?
