Bad publicity still serves

If you believe in one of the tenets of Trump’s “The Art of the Deal”, that bad publicity is better than no publicity, wouldn’t a Never Trumper wish the media would stop scrutinizing his utterances which in effect aids his reelection efforts?

Would the media stop, knowing that their ratings and revenue would go down?
