Incumbent disaster

Our U.S. tepresentative calls our wildfires and their destruction heartbreaking. One wonders if she comprehends how her rural constituents who value science and the environment must feel about her fealty to the climate denier-in-chief, as we watch the weather grow ever more hostile.

Protections of previous administrations are sacrificed upon the smoky altar of gratuitous corporate gain. Crimes against the earth are fast-tracked to bolster anachronistic industries and hasten the demise of healthy water, air and agriculture. National security billions do more to support genocidal projects of Israel and Saudi Arabia than to protect at-risk Americans.

Her culpability for the afflictions of polarization, militarization and hopelessness during the pandemic must not be obscured by toxic ashes, her two faces on veterans’ issues, a gutted postal service, or her plush blanket of campaign funds. On her watch, we face escalating climate dangers on top of the considerable threats of COVID-19 with little more for protection than partisan bluster.
