USPS is a government service

Please go back and read the American Constitution. In it one will not find Microsoft, Facebook, Ford, or Bayer (Monsanto) listed within our founding document.

You will find the Postal Service listed and that it is a mandate of the U.S. Government to provide this service to all citizens.

That’s exactly what the Postal Service is: a U.S. government service.

No, it is not a business like UPS, FedEx or Amazon. People should stop looking at the Postal Service within that lens.

Yes, efficiency is always expected but not in the same characteristics as the above logistical businesses. Their vehicles are way beyond their expiration date. There are many more infrastructural out-of-date machines that are being held together by the great personnel (many, many are veterans) to get the mail and packages delivered.

It’s not the Postal Service but our Congress that has created these problems and they are the body that can fix this.

If one disagrees then start a petition for a new constitutional amendment that will basically “white out” the Postal Service out of our Constitution.
