The real ‘deep state’

To Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell et al…. can you not even wait til the body is cold?!

Your actions reach new heights of disrespect, duplicity and hypocrisy – even for you. But, sadly, not unexpected from a party which has rationalized and justified every misstep, misspeak, and controversial and/or illegal action on the part of this administration.

In 2015 – with 9 months before the American people had the opportunity to choose a new president, McConnell “honored” our votes and blocked President Obama from exercising his constitutional right and obligation to nominate a Supreme Court Judge. He defied his constitutional obligation to have hearings and a vote in the Senate on the nomination of the sitting president. Additionally, McConnell extended the “nuclear option” to include Supreme Court judges. This change of Senate rules occurred in 2003 but not used til 2013 – though still excluding Supreme Court Judges. After successfully blocking any nominations, McConnell revised the rules again in 2017 to extend this option to include the Supreme Court, which meant a vote no longer required a 60% approval – rather a simple majority.

Now, with about 40 days before the next election – we find a country seriously divided as a result of 3 ½ years of chaos, misinformation and divisive rhetoric, Trump’s opponent ahead in the polls and early voting already begun. Yet, now our votes have no value!

These actions are merely an attempt to ensure their political agenda succeeds – this is the real DEEP STATE in action!
