Love to Malden and Pine City

I visited Malden and pine City yesterday. At least what’s left of those two communities. 80% devastation. Burned to the ground. Homes. Vehicles. Out buildings.

Avista is there, with crews trying to put up poles/lines that burned. Two TV stations were there-channels two and four- filming, interviewing. Chain saws could be heard, cutting and clearing downed trees. I stopped and spoke with one man whose home had been spared. But about 20 yards away was the smoking ruins of his parent’s house, plus two shops. Smoking-through Malen, to the other side of Pine City, many stumps still smoldering, waiting for wind, or firefighters. Hope the firefighters get there first.

To help: contact the red Cross.

Homeschooling: take your kids/students south on US I95. Go through Rosalia. Turn right at signpost towards maldin/Pine City. Give your kids a real education. And stop and give a citizen of Malden or Pine City a hug. Right now they need to know that we won’t forget them-our neighbors.
