This isn’t the city I remember

I grew up in Spokane. I can honestly say it has changed, and not for the better! It used to be a place that people wanted to visit, or perhaps live — however, now that has changed, drastically. Now people cannot wait to move. And the tourist rate has dropped.

Cannot say I blame them. This is not the city I remember. It is overcrowded and filthy. Before you could come and go as you please, no restrictions or guidelines.

Not now there are too many. This used to be a safe place. To live now the crime rate has risen. Along with the cost of living, not to mention the homeless and jobless rates. There is more housing developments than retail. For every business that opens several close. It has more people than ever. And in fact these past two years this city has become a ghost town. Dirty and broke.

This is definitely not the city of my childhood. I blame urban decay and having nothing to do. Our infrastructure is decaying and so is this once friendly city
