Paddlecraft nannies

The proposed House Bill 1018 will force folks to get training before they can ride an inner tube down a river is typical King & Snohomish County “nanny state” overreach.

Yes, there were 24 paddlecraft deaths last year, so let’s punish everyone. How many of those involved alcohol or other? How many were because they chose not to wear a life jacket? We have a seat belt law in this state, yet people still die from not wearing them. What will we learn; wear a life jacket and how to safely get on/off a floaty or inner tube or SUP?

Dear taxpayers, what will the cost of a new education program and enforcement be? Forrest Gump said, “You can’t fix stupid.” Pretty much says it all, and that includes bill sponsor Mill Creek Rep. John Lovick on this one.

“Come on man.”
