History is important too

Beverly Austin’s guest opinion of January 29 (“Civics education crucial to make democracy work”) concerning civics education was on target! Democracy depends on a well-educated electorate, and we don’t have one.

I would add that we also need to be educated in the “History of Western Civilization” to know who we are and from where we came.
