Vestal’s energy bias

Re: Shawn Vestal’s Avista column (“Avista leaves customers in dark about rolling blackouts,” June 30) blaming Avista for not keeping up with electrical demand during this unprecedented, record setting heat by inconveniencing us with blackouts is misplaced and irresponsible.

His use of the word “appalling” in describing Avista’s failure to inform residents in advance is also misplaced and not true as many if not most were notified of this possibility for those whose had given contact info. Local news also issued notice of potential blackout plans.

The fact that blackouts did not exactly coincide as planned due to ever-increasing demand helped avert a more widespread event.

Why would Avista return your call? You already had them judged.
