Captain Kirk’s perspective

90-year-old William Shatner’s first voyage into space — and all he wanted to do was look out the window. Being in space in the movies was a lot different. Standing on the bridge of the Enterprise and looking at the viewscreen can’t compare with the real thing.

He also made an analogy between life and death, passing from a clear blue sky into darkness, and the light was below. Our biosphere is the clear blue sky. Bio means life and can be compared to biosynthesis, biogenesis or orthogenesis. No wonder he wants to stare out the window, while his younger crewmates do somersaults and backflips.
