Cooney article unjust

Sadie Cooney’s “celebration of life” had a surprisingly large number of people as she was loved by and a friend to so many. Conversations there included disgust at the article about her in the paper (“Sadie Charlene Cooney, 87, former Spokane County assessor, dies,” Aug. 30), which had nice things to say at the end but only after you waded lead paragraphs about controversies decades ago for which she no longer could defend her side of the story and were unbalanced in how they depicted a 40-year public service career. It dishonored our friend.
