Magic Lantern to open Oscar-nominated shorts

Just as short story collections are popular among readers, short film collections are popular among movie fans.

Some of the best attended programs at film festivals, including the just-completed Spokane International Film Festival, involve shorts.

That’s one reason why the Magic Lantern schedules the Academy Award-nominated shorts programs every year. Both the animated and live-action films will open at the Lantern on Friday.

The Oscar-nominated documentary shorts are not included. For the moment.
