If you’re proficient in the Telugu language, you’ll be happy to know that the movie action movie “Bheemla Nayak” is opening Friday at Regal’s Northtown Mall .
Even if you’re not proficient, don’t worry. The film, directed by Saagar K Chandra and starring Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubati, will have subtitles in English.
Telugu , by the way, is one of India’s 22 regional (or “scheduled”) languages. It is spoken by those living in southeastern Indian states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Bheemla Nayak is the name of the film’s title character, played by Kalyan. He is a police inspector who has a dispute with an Indian Army officer (played by Daggubati), and the ongoing struggle threatens both their careers.
The film is a remake of a 2020 Malayalam -language film titled “Ayyappanum Koshiyum,” Malayalam being another of India’s regional languages (spoken in the Indian state of Kerala and the union territories of Lakshadweep and Puducherry).
No full reviews are yet available, not even in any Indian news media I could find. But check out the trailer below. Like most movies made in India, “Bheemla Nayak” features a number of songs.
So no matter what, you’ll able to hum along with the on-screen action.
