Get intimate with Queen Elizabeth on Nov. 30
Having just finished watching the fifth season of “The Crown,” the Netflix series about the British royal family, I’m thinking of my late brother.
Randy was born in the wrong era. He either belonged in the late 19th century, when he might have cavorted with Oscar Wilde, or in the late 16th century, when he would have fit right in at Queen Elizabeth’s court.
Or he might have been some rich guy lolling around in pre-Caesar Rome. Whatever.
Anyway, he would have enjoyed watching “The Crown.” And my wife and I miss turning to him to ask how what the writers have given us matches with what he knew so well as the truth.
Randy would have wanted to see a movie that will be playing at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at two area Regal Cinemas theaters: NorthTown Mall and Coeur d’Alene’s Riverstone Stadium.
The movie? “Portrait of the Queen,” a film that promises to offer “an original portrayal of the story of The Queen from a totally new perspective: through the most intense, amazing, revealing photographic portraits of her, as shared by the extraordinary photographers who accompanied and often created the image of the British monarchy itself.”
The film is based on the best-selling book “Elisabetta II: Ritrato di Regina by Paola Calvetti.” And the photographs are credited to Brian Aris, Jason Bell, Julian Calder, Chris Levine, David Montgomery, and John Swannell.
If you’re a Britroyalist, as Randy was, you might want to go.
