Where is Patty?
Why doesn’t The Spokesman-Review carry a few articles about where Patty Murray stands on important issues? What are her positions on energy, urban crime, high gas prices and control of fentanyl, which is now the No. 1 cause of death for ages 18-45?
Our borders are too open and small business is becoming too closed by over-regulation and over-taxation.
Will she support school tax money going to the students and parents seeking alternative school choices? Murray owes the citizens (and even noncitizens) some answers beyond her few lame ads about abortion on demand for all and “preserving democracy.” If she wants to preserve democracy, she needs to tell voters where she stands before she is given another six-year term of no accomplishment. Journalists should demand she not run her campaign with silence from some Seattle basement.
At least Tiffany Smiley campaigns and is willing to explain her views on difficult issues. Patty Murray should fully retire if she continues to avoid the issues.

WSU football quarterback
I thought Ward looked outstanding in their spring game. After four games he now reminds me of Johnny Football. Very egotistical. I’d bench him until he figured that out. We don’t need another Leaf at QB.

Obvious gerrymandering in Spokane
Council Member Zack Zappone is so obviously gerrymandering his own district to be easier for him to win.
I recently saw the Spokane City Council is in the process of redistricting. Since this only happens every 10 years, I figured it was important to see what the Redistricting Board was up to. I was shocked to see that Council Member Zappone proposed his own maps and even more surprised to see how odd his own district was drawn.
Why would Zappone have Spokane Falls Community College lumped in with the South Hill, while he also cuts Browne’s Addition into his district? Could it be that he wants to win his reelection by more than 270 votes?
I question the ethics of a person to use their position of influence to push a map that is self-serving.
