The Slice

Hot mess

They have had a few cases of the flu at my mother's nursing home.

So an administrator there called and told me they wanted visitors to wear masks for the time being.

That's fine. Except I can't stand those things. I always feel like I'm walking around with a face full of steam when I have one on.

Oh, sure. It's fun to play Dr. Ben Casey for a few seconds.

"Nurse, I need to see you in my office. Stat."

But soon it's just a pain. And the real drawback, in my estimation anyway, is the fact that I doubt they do any good.

I honestly don't know how people who wear those masks all day keep from going crazy.
