The problem with using your smartphone as your wake-up alarm

Let's say you just happen to wake up at 2:13 a.m.

You have two choices.

You can try to go back to sleep right away.

Or, since your phone is right there by the bed, you can pick it up and visit cyberspace.

You can see if you have any text messages. You can check Twitter. Or, if you have a job like mine, you can look to see if a commenter has weighed in on your latest offering, which went live at midnight: "How long are they going to pay you to write this drivel? -- Nimrod57"

Personally, I recommend checking Twitter. There is a lot of good stuff from Brits in the stream at that hour.
