Can’t Sew on a Button

I find it sad to learn that our local middle school does not have a Home Economics class to teach skills such as sewing. When I went to school, it was a required subject from the 7th to 9th grade. Our school now offers a “Teen Wellness” class that teaches “basic nutrition, current events for teens, eating disorders, alcohol, drugs and peer pressure, to mention a few.” I realize that times have changed. But what about teaching some basic skills?
