Remembering Laura
It was a year ago yesterday that Laura Crooks died unexpectedly at her home. She was just 37.
Laura was my friend and editor, and the founder of the Parents’ Council here as well as this blog. (And also the tireless mom of two young children, Calvin and Carly, and wife of Gary.)
In starting the Parents’ Council, Laura hoped to bring together moms and dads from around the community to share ideas and develop story ideas that might otherwise go unnoticed.
I believe she accomplished that. And I know many of you would agree.
But now is a good time to reflect on this blog and how it should continue in the future.
Are you all happy with the Parents’ Council as it is? Would you like to see different topics addressed? Any ideas for how to better reflect what goes on here in the printed newspaper?
Please take a minute in the next few days to think of Laura. (She always went all-out for Halloween, wanting to make sure the kids had a great time.)
Post any thoughts about her or the Parents’ Council in the comments below.
