It’s a ‘Fantastic’ rainy day in Seattle

I was driving through the streets of Seattle early this morning, and the Public Radio announcer said, “It’s 49 and rainy this morning in Seattle.” And I thought: There’s a standing headline if I ever heard one.

Anyway, we’re here to spend Thanksgiving with our friends Leslie Kelly and John Nelson, both friends from The Spokesman-Review who later went on to work at papers in Memphis and Seattle. All three of us are now out of daily print journalism, along with most of our friends, but that’s more energizing than anything else.

If nothing else, it hasn’t dimmed our love of movies. Up for today, Wes Anderson’s “Fantastic Mr. Fox.” Below is a preview.
