This is the night that the Party Gods hath made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Tonight the city will be filled to the gills with glammed-up girls and boys, all in search of the party to end all parties. Many drinks will be had. Countless promises will be made. And untold midnight kisses will signal the beginning of interesting things to come.

Tomorrow morning the city will be filled to the gutters with worn-out girls and boys, all with a hangover to end all hangovers. Many Advil will be had. Countless walks of shame will be made. And Facebooked midnight kisses will signal the beginning of interesting stories to come.

Have fun tonight, but do us all a favor and don’t be an idiot. There’s a New Year out there waiting to be conquered. I predict it will be a year filled with hope, possibility and triumph. And I expect most of us will need until Monday to get ready for it.
