Unkindest cut of all

The Spokesman-Review

Ouch! We have all been neutered! Washington state residents have been handed a new law (Senate Bill 5688). By it, same-sex domestic partners may now enjoy the same rights and privileges that had been formerly reserved for traditional male-female couples. But in order to legislate this, two-thirds of our Legislature ordered the deletion of all references to “male” and “female” in existing laws. Over 100 times in SB 2688, the lawmakers sent “male” and “female” to the recycle bin! Laws now read gender-neutral.

In The Spokesman (June 3), I learned that Protect Washington Marriage is supporting a referendum (R-71) aimed to reverse SB 5688.

However, the director of Know Thy Neighbor, a group aimed to discourage voters from signing R-71, said, “petition signers need to … be responsible for this dehumanizing attack on the gay community.” Wait a minute! We have just been legally neutered by the gay community legislation! So who is talking “dehumanization”?

I have joined Protect Washington Marriage PAC to help reach this goal.

Witness to the truth! Sign Referendum #71.
