I see Harrison Ford in the lead

I’ve been reading more and more about people getting their blogs published as novels . Good idea.

Here’s my first installment.

I was born a poor black child …

No, no, that’s a lie.

But, then, I work in journalism. Don’t we all lie by definition?

No, just some of us. Those who report on WMDs , for example.

Or maybe they were just … misled? Or is that even worse?

Anyway, let’s start again.

I was born a poor … hell, I wasn’t even born poor.

Not that my family was rich. Having a dad in the U.S. Navy (go Middies!) trying to protect democracy while supporting a halfway disabled wife and four screaming brats didn’t exactly put us on the welfare roles.

But we did shop at Sears. Not Nordstrom. Or whatever equivalent there was in San Diego, Corpus Christi, Chula Vista , Wahiawa, Newport, Ewa Beach , Virginia Beach, Rialto and San Diego.

So, again.

I was born …

Seems true enough. But something’s missing.

Hey, how about … I was hatched.

Yeah, that’ll work. Sounds mysterious and weird, just like my life really felt.

Maybe I can make this into a sci-fi novel. Get Ridley Scott or somebody to direct. We could make millions.

I’ll listen to all inquiries. You can contact me by clicking here.

Below: Yeah, I remember Ewa (pronounced Eva) Beach as being this beautiful. But haoles always had to be careful, especially those who went to Eva Elementary and Intermediate School, because the kids of those cane workers liked to pound you.
