Travolta film to play first Cd’A film fest
We’re just halfway through the 9th Spokane International Film Festival , yet already the area is girding its collective cinematic loins for yet another movie fest.
The inaugural Coeur d’Alene Film Festival , which is sponsored by something called the Bonne Soiree Fluid Film Festivals firm, will be held March 2-4 at various sites in the Lake City, ranging from the Coeur d’Alene Resort to the Riverstone Cinemas.
Other than the fact of the festival itself, the big news involves the booking of “Lonely Hearts,” a film starring John Travolta that was shot in part in Spokane at the Davenport Hotel . The film, which isn’t scheduled for limited mainstream release until April 13, was written and directed by Todd Robinson and co-stars James Gandolfini, Salma Hayek, Jared Leto, Laura Dern and Scott Caan.
According to festival spokeswoman Shelley Austin, the three-day event boasts some 50 film screened at five locations, eight film forums and three “huge, fabulous, fun parties.”
I can already smell the champagne. Or is that Diet Pepsi?
