WSU trails 35-17 at half

A quick note here at halftime with WSU trailing 35-17. The Bears hit WSU with about three big right hands in the first quarter and knocked the Cougars to the canvas. But they got up and, with a couple good drives and one big play, cut into the Cal lead at the half. … When given time, Jeff Tuel showed he can throw an accurate, on-time ball. … The 28 points WSU gave up in the first quarter was the most it has given up to open a game in Paul Wulff’s tenure. But Nico Grasu’s 24-yard field goal with 2:20 left in that frame was also the first time this season WSU has scored in the first 15 minutes and snapped a nine-game streak dating back to last year. … We’ll be on the field doing interviews when the game ends, so you can use this post for comments.
