No stiff he, Sennett is a prince

I love politics as much as the next guy. And since the title of this blog is “Movies & More,” I can pretty much do “more” of whatever it is that I want. I say this because my colleague, and beloved fellow blogger, Frank Sennett , is wondering whether someone had slipped me some Viagra – presumably because I’ve been running photos of shapely movie stars with my posts.

If someone has slipped something in my morning Americano (double-split shot), I’d be the last to know. I’m posting photos for three reasons: One, I can do it. Two, the photos are easier on the eyes than that ghastly caricature of me at the top of this page (and that’s not the problem of Bridget Sawicki, who designed it; it’s simply a comment on the poor material she had to work with). Three, it’s a blatant attempt to attract readers.

Below: Although she’s shown herself to be a lightweight actress in movies such as “Jersey Girl” and “Inventing the Abbotts,” Liv Tyler made a luminous Arwen in all three of the “Lord of the Rings” films. And she added just the right touch to the overlooked near-masterpiece “Onegin,” in which she played the love object Tatyana Larina. And you have ask yourself: Why did the title character, Evgeny Onegin, spurn her advances? Just look at her. Isn’t she worth, uh, stepping down a class or two?
