Convoy of coolness

Tricia Jo Webster

I adore the Seattle Mariners , even during the complete suck-fest seasons (and there have been more of those than I care to remember). This year will not be one of those seasons. Don’t ask me how I know, I just do. Over the past couple of weeks I’ve been telling anyone who’ll listen that I am totally putting my money on the 2010 Mariners.

That’s right: They. Could. Go. All. The. Way.

OK, I understand that the proof is in the proverbial pudding, and the season opener is still a few long months away (the playoffs farther still). But Tuesday the 2010 Mariners Carivan will roll into town, giving us all a much-needed peek at summer. Or at least a glimpse at some of the boys of summer. And a Moose.

Monday a group of the guys (Dave Simms, Doug Fister, Garrett Olson and the Moose) spent the day in Wenatchee. I’m not sure exactly which fellas will visit Spokane (please, please, please let it be Griffey), but they’ll be dropping by area elementary schools during the day, then stopping in at SFCC’s Student Union Building for a free, open-to-the-public autograph and photo session from 4:15 to 5:45. Sa-weet.

Remember to smile pretty and say “Garlic Fries!”
