Stand aside for Coast Guard

The Spokesman-Review

I read the ABC article that puts the Coast Guard in a most negative and inaccurate perspective. If ABC did its research it would know that during Katrina, Adm. Allen, then 8th District commander, saved the feds.

Adm. Allen has more leadership experience, ability and capability in his little toe than President Obama could ever imagine having (and he does imagine). What the Coast Guard needs is for the left-leaning federal agencies to let those with experience take charge – the Coast Guard!

The best thing President Obama can do is take himself and his Cabinet to the golf course and let Adm. Allen and the Coast Guard take care of this problem, unhindered by the federal government.

Semper paratus (always ready).
