Red beans and rice and everything nice
So today I was in the middle of a few different projects and decided it’d be a good idea to eat lunch at my desk. I also decided that if I was going to eat at my desk I was darn well going to enjoy it.
So I walked down to
Chicken-N-More
, put in my order and in less than 5 minutes (and for less than $5) I was making the return trip to my office.
Although I’ve tried just about everything on the menu at one time or another, (yup, even the collard greens, once) my mainstay is a golden-on-the-outside, juicy-on-the-inside chicken thigh with a small side of red beans and rice. The beans pack a lingering heat that tends to make my nose run a little. And the chicken skin is so perfectly crispy it’s a sin to not eat every last morsel, but the nuns always told me gluttony is an even bigger sin and so I just devour the sweet, tender meat – making sure to dip each bite in the amazing BBQ sauce for good measure.
O.M.G. Winner, winner, chicken dinner. Or, lunch – but that doesn’t rhyme – and this food is gastronomically poetic.
You’ll find Chicken-N-More downtown at 414-1/2 W. Sprague. Their number is 509.838.5071.
