The Frenchies Thai one on

Can’t say that I’ve seen many Thai films. But for several reasons, I can’t wait to see Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s “Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives.”

The main reason? It just won the Palme d’Or at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

But maybe even more important, one of the film’s characters, the son of the dying protagonist, is played as an ape. Yeah, the film focuses on reincarnation.

I have several relatives who, I’m pretty sure, have been reincarnated as asses. Thing is, though, only a few of them are dead. The rest are Sarah Palin fans.
