Home … Just in time to knock ‘em down
Every Sunday night is Bowling night.
My friend Elle asked me to join as a fill-in member of her team. It wasn’t until after I signed the papers that she told me she’d need me to fill in about 87% of the time. Smart girl.
At first I worried it’d be a drag. Lacing up clown shoes and hucking a 12-pound ball down a greasy lane was not my idea of regularly-scheduled recreation. But then I met some people on the league who do consider ugly shoes and heavy balls a whole lot of fun, and they were totally cool. And when I finally bowled three games — not in a row — that broke 100, I was like, “Dude, I could totally be a bowler.”
So now, 87% of my winter Sundays will be spent at North Bowl, with a bunch of people in hideous shoes. And we all have a fabulous time, even if we don’t break 100.
North Bowl runs awesome specials throughout the week, and I’m here to tell you they also serve up some killer tater tots. Check it out. (And, yeah, that IS a disco ball hanging up there above the lane. The place is crazy like that.)
