Posada’ and a panel discussion: All for free

For a free evening of film and conversation, you might want to check out an event that is occurring tonight at the Gonzaga University School of Law. A screening of the film “Posada: A Night to Cross All Borders” will begin at 7 p.m. at the law school courtroom, which is located on the ground floor of the school.

Never been there? The law school sits on the campus, adjacent to the school’s baseball field.

The movie is part of an evening centering on race and immigration. I took the following from the event’s program:

” ‘Posada,’ translated into English means ‘shelter.’ The 57-minute documentary focuses on the journeys of three boys and a mother who immigrate to the United States. It compares their journeys to Las ‘Posada’s, a traditional Christmas procession from Mexico that re-enacts Joseph and Mary’s search for shelter.”
The film was directed by Father Mark McGregor, SJ. Father McGregor will be part of a panel discussion that follows the screening. A reception begins at 6. And it’s all free.
Below : An explanation of the term Posada.
