Happy thoughts, from Don Kardong
I was flipping through the September issue of Runner’s World this afternoon. Due to my tendency to overthink things, I flipped directly to article titled: Attack of the Nagging Fears!
Due to my tendency to overeat everything but fruit and veggies, I flipped directly to the fear titled: Gaining Weight .
And there it was, my worst exercise-based anxiety (in print, so it must be true): Experts reminding me that unless I run more than an hour each day (I don’t), I should not be eating like a sumo wrestler (I do). Phooey.
Just as I was about to satiate my sadness in a handful of Cheetos, I see this happy little note at the end of the blurb, from the godfather of Bloomsday …
“Without ice cream, there would be darkness and chaos.”
Thank you, Don Kardong. Thank you very much. I’ll take two scoops and some sprinkles.
