Not your grandmother’s Rick Steves

My pal Kevin Taylor made the scene at Wednesday night’s Rick Steves appearance. I, unfortunately, had a prior commitment that I didn’t remember until my iPhone began beeping at me in what I consider an impatient and, yes, rude manner. More and more every day, this instrument adopts Steve Jobs’ natural way of being in the world. If you know what I mean.

Anyway, Kevin said that at one point a student asked Steves a direct question and Steves responded in an equally direct manner.

“Have you ever thought about running for president?” the student asked. To which Steves replied, “All I want to do politically is legalize marijuana in this state.”

So much, Kevin said, for the Public Television version of Rick Steves.
