Buy a tree, talk Kardashian

You can buy a Christmas tree and donate to charity.

If you still haven’t bought a Christmas tree, you might head on over to the parking lot in front of the Safeway at Hamilton and Mission. The tree lot there is run by L’Arche Spokane , the support organization for people with developmental disabilities. We bought a tree there today, as we have the past several years, and our eight-footer is a beauty. Not a bad thing to spend money on Christmas and donate to charity, all at once.

But buying at the L’Arche lot offers an added benefit. In the process of tying my tree to my car, the seller — a middle-age guy — began to talk about the reailty show ” Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” Not that he was a fan. He said his wife was. But I learned a few things. Mostly that the guy who married Kim Kardashian, the New York Nets player Kris Humphries, isn’t particularly smart.

That may be true. Or not. The last place you’re likely to find anything real these days in on a “reality” show. Depending on the settlement he gets, Humphries might be the smartest guy in the room.

Anyway, did I say how much I love my tree?
