Plan now on SpIFF 2012: Jan. 26-Feb. 4
As somebody who has been attending the Spokane International Film Festival since its beginning, I’m understandably a fan. Which is why, when I left the print edition of The Spokesman-Review in April 2009, I joined SpIFF’s board of directors. I wanted to see what I could do to keep the festival going.
Not that I’m much help. I know nothing about marketing or fund-raising and am about the least-organized person I know. And as I’m busy with a number of other tasks, from my night-editing job to writing this blog, I don’t see as many films as some of the other festival programmers. But I do what I can.
Because, as I say, the festival is worth it. If you feel like volunteering, you are welcome. Just go to the festival site and send director Pete Porter an email. Or call. Either works. And if nothing else, plan on attending when the 2012 version commences on Jan. 26. You won’t regret it.
