Tuesday is National Pancake Day!!!

Tricia Jo Webster

According to IHOP’s website , National Pancake Day dates back several centuries, to when the English prepped for fasting during Lent. Strict rules prohibited the eating of all dairy products during Lent, so pancakes were made to use up the supply of eggs, milk and butter – hence the name Pancake Tuesday!

Local IHOPs are celebrating National Pancake Day by offering everyone a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes on Tuesday, March 1. In return, they’re asking anyone who eats a stack of fluffy buttermilk goodness to make a donation to the Children’s Miracle Network. All the monies raised here stay here, and benefit our local Providence Hospitals, including Holy Family and Sacred Heart, and St. Luke’s, Kootenai Medical Center and Inland Northwest Health Services.
