When it comes to cheese, Syfy delivers
OK, how little did I enjoy “Season of the Witch,” the just-released Nicolas Cage thriller?
Put it this way: I just finished watching “NYC: Tornado Terror,” and “Category 6: Day of Destrucftion — Part One” just began. And both — perfect examples of made-for-TV action films, starring over-the-hill actors such as Randy Quaid and Nancy McKeon, powered by facts-of-the-moment plot lines and dialogue a kindergartener would reject — are a lot more fun than the filmed-in-eastern-Europe “Season of the Witch.”
Oh, Thomas Gibson turns out to be a cheating hypocrite. And Dennehy growls this bit of dialogue: “From now on, if a dog farts in Duluth, I expect somebody to know about it.”
This Syfy bit of dreck just keep getting better and better. Next week: Nic Cage in “The Earth Devours its Young: Terror in Red-State America.”
Don’t laugh.
Below : Just a taste of “Category 6: Day of Destruction — Part One.”
