Tastes Good. Does Good. It’s a Win-Win.
I’ve had to lessen the love I give to burgers and fries lately, simply because it’s easier to run when I’m not being chased by cheesy, greasy, absolutely delicious slabs of juicy meat and crispy, salty delicious spears of golden potatoes.
But even a good girl needs to be bad every once in a while. And if the bad actually does good it’s like the bad never even happened. Which, in my book, is pretty much as fabulous as life gets.
A Red Robin between now and February 13 will help illustrate this concept. See, the four local Red Robin’s have teamed up with the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery to present their 11th Annual Burgers with a Heart fundraiser. For every gourmet burger you buy, Red Robin will donate .50 to the nursery so they can continue their awesome work with at-risk children in our community.
So, sure, that Guacamole Bacon Burger sitting in front of you might contain 64 grams of fat, but when you convert the 50 cents of love you’re sharing into fat grams and subtract it from the burger’s overall nutritional value, it’s like you’ve only ingested 14 grams of fat. Which, based on a 2,000 calorie diet, means you still have something like 25 MORE grams of fat to ingest before reaching your daily goal!
Go ahead, reach for those fries. Because if you also purchase a $1 paper heart during your visit, you get to knock off another 100 grams of fat from your entire meal, which means you could eat at least a couple more burgers and still come out ahead in your daily nutrition quotient. I love do-good math!
There are three Red Robin Gourmet Burgers in Spokane: On the Newport Highway, Downtown and at the Valley Mall. Red Robin #4 is in Coeur d’Alene. Burgers with a Heart runs through February 14. Visit the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery’s website to get more information on this great fundraiser, and learn about other ways you can help kids in our community. Yum!
