Goodbye lazy summer days … hello outdoor recreation!
Here’s your chance to become one of those people who always have a story to tell.
“So she decides that now is the perfect time to stand up, and just like that, the canoe tips …”
“I’m whipping down the trail and the next thing I know there’s a tree limb crammed in my spokes …”
“We were this close to the cache when he says, ‘I sure hope that was your stomach growling’ …”
This Saturday is Sekani Adventure Day – a family-friendly event that lets you try your hand at everything from archery to stand-up paddling. For $9 you can spend the day getting acquainted with your new hobby – be it mountain biking, geocaching or kayaking. Local pros supply all the necessary equipment and cautionary information. Local outdoor-adventure wannabes supply the initial trepidation and eventual elation.
Before you know it you’ll be one of those people taking full advantage of our beautiful river. You’ll be picking bugs from your teeth after a crazy mountain bike ride down what used to seem an insurmountable mound of earth. You’ll be joining other adventurous friends for a rock climb. You’ll be fit. You’ll be happy. You’ll be dog tired and limping … and you’ll have one heck of a story to tell.
