The nadir of television - up until now

just when I thought it was safe to turn the television back on, I see an ad for something called “Toddlers & Tiaras, ” which apparently is yet another reality show, this one about junior beauty pageants. As if we don’t remember the dismal JonBenet Ramsey story.

And it’s on The Learning Channel, no less. Is that a sad stab at irony?

Is this a sign that we have, finally, rached a cultural nadir? Doubtful. Close, but we can fall even further.
