Hey, it’s just a case of Lars being Lars
Seems Danish filmmaker Lars Von Trier has done it again. The controversial director of such films as “The Idiots” (which centers on a group that pretends to be developmentally disabled) and “Dancing in the Dark” (a musical about the death penalty), made some fairly stupid comments at the Cannes Film Festival.
Hint: They involve Hitler.
If you can believe the Hollywood Reporte r, though, this was just a case of Lars being Lars. The festival, which apparently has banned Von Trier for what he said, seems to have overreacted.
I mean, hell, it’s not like he took steroids , abused his girlfriend or got drunk and i nsulted a cop. Those kinds of actions are required for American celebrities, it seems.
