Art and books make a great combo

Spent awhile Friday evening at the Tinman Gallery looking at the art of Spokane artist Sheila Evans . The exhibition, which includes a couple dozen of her paintings, runs through April. As Evans wrote in her gallery notes, “My lush, light-filled pastel paintings are best described as ‘fantasy botanicals.’ Using leaves and petals as a medium within a medium, I create winged creatures, stormy skies, or whatever captures my imagination.”

Not a bad way to spend an hour or two. Plus, the Tinman boasts an intriguing collection of books for sale.
