You call ‘em nachos
I call ‘em Nirvana.
We ordered this pile of cheese-covered tortilla chip awesomeness at Andy’s . I love this little corner bar! It’s cozy and cool, and there’s always an eclectic mix of hipsters, neighborhood regulars (many of whom are hipsters), execs stopping in for a way-homer and mid-run margarita drinkers. Plus their teensy kitchen cranks out some of the tastiest bar food in the city. Their happy hour runs from something like 2 to 7 (as if you needed another reason to leave work early) and although the happy hour menu choices are few, they’re impressive: fish and chips (crispy on the outside, flaky on the inside) for $5.50, and I think these nachos (piled high with all the trimmings) were less than $7. Sorry I can’t be more specific with the prices, but like I said, their happy hour runs from something like 2 to 7, and a freshie was placed in front of me before the lime in my gin & tonic (happy hour price of, like, $3.50?) had time to reach the three-quarter mark …
You’ll find Andy’s at the corner of First & Cedar. You’ve probably driven past it a zillion times without even realizing it was there. Look for it next time. Yup, there it is.
