Don’t waste time dreaming small
I’m not going to pretend that I always eat in a healthy manner. Although I was a vegetarian for 35-plus years, even then I scarfed down more than my share of potato chips and chocolate bars and cheese pizzas washed down with beers both cheap and expensive.
But I still do try, on occasion, to eat my vegetables. Which is why the meal that I had with the beer pictured in the post immediately below was a huge salad, I mean huge. With lots of lettuce and arugula and some raddichio and hearts of palm and kernels of corn and olives and tomatoes and roasted chicken and all topped with some Parma ham.
So there we sat at a street-side eatery in Rio, less than a block from Ipanema Beach , watching the passersby, drinking beer (my wife a glass of red wine), munching on some food that was both tasty and didn’t fill me with feelings of guilt. And I thought: I wish everyone I know in Spokane could, just once in their life, come to Rio and enjoy a moment such as this.
Might as well dream big. What’s the point of wasting your dreams on something small?
