Swing your partner right on in …
Every year about this time a jauntily clad group of square dancers do-si-do into town to spend the weekend circling left in a promenade. Or something like that.
Their frivilous festival of frilly skirts culminates in a Salmon Barbecue on Sunday. This weekend marks the 56th annual Square Dance Festival & Salmon Barbecue , so yeah, it’s kind of a big deal. Belles and beaus come from all over the place to shake their tail feathers and salmon fans seem to come out of every nook and cranny on Sunday. Truly it’s a sight to behold. So behold it, why don’t you?
The barbecue runs from noon to 4. It’s $10 for adults, $9 for seniors, and the kiddos can fill their bellies for just $6. Get your fill then walk it off on the Centennial Trail, just on the other side of the Sullivan Park parking lot. Also, on the other side of the Trail you’ll find Krispy Kreme. Just sayin’.
