A veggie delight, Stella’s serves a decent brew
Always on the outlook for a new place to purchase coffee, I headed over just north of the Monroe Street Bridge to Broadway Ave. And there I found Stella’s Cafe. The place has been open since February, but I heard about it just this mornng from a friend who works in the federal building and whose staff members buy their beans ( Doma ) there.
So I stopped by this morning and bought my tall Americano, and they didn’t give me any grief about asking for my drink to be double-cupped. That in itself earned my gratitude. But the cup, which cost less than $2, was just what you would expect from a good Doma blend.
The place advertises itself as a vegetarian eatery, and its food has earned rave reviews on the Web . But I’ll settle for the coffee. For now.
I can alway find time for lunch later.
