SpIFF 2012: Wanna save some money?

SpIFF, the shortened name that we use for the Spokane International Film Festival, is offering a couple of closing-weekend special deals.

One is for the documentary “Drummer’s Dream,” which plays at 5 p.m. Saturday at River Park Square’s AMC Theaters. For this screening, a filmgoer age 14 and under will be admitted FREE with each adult ticket-holder. In other words, parents, buy a ticket and one of your kids gets in free; buy two tickets and two of them don’t have to pay; and so on. Puchase tickets here.

The second is for Sunday’s 6:30 p.m. screening of the Oscar-nominated animated film “Chico y Rita” (“Chico and Rita”), which plays at the Magic Lantern. Regular ticket prices apply, but the special quality is the screening itself, which was arranged after the 2012 SpIFF had already premiered. Parents should note that even though “Chico y Rita” is animated, it’s an adult film, recommended for age 15 and older. Purchase tickets here.

Only five days of this 14th-annual version of SpIFF left, beginning with tonight’s shows . Enjoy it while you can.
