Abortion is a sin

January is the month the U.S. Supreme Court legalized abortion of the unborn in the United States. Many of those who want to be president of the United States are declaring their position as pro-life, or against abortion, which is the killing of the unborn. Many others declare their position as pro-death, in favor of the murder of those who are not yet born.

Years ago, slavery was OK in the U.S. The argument was that “although the slave may have a heart and a brain, and he may be a human life biologically, a slave is not a human person”: Dred Scott decision. The argument for abortion is very similar: Although he may have a heart and a brain, and he may be a human life biologically, an unborn baby is not a legal person: Roe v. Wade.

We read in God’s word, the Holy Bible, that life starts at conception. “For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works …” Psalm 139:13-14. We also read in Luke 1:14 “and it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost.”

Notice the Bible says the “babe leaped in her womb.” Thus, the killing of the unborn is wrong and is sin. Abortion should not be practiced.
